| ok i have a huge confession to make. i was going to write this whole entry about how i died but in the end it just took to much of my brain that it wasn't worth it! sorry! but on to my confession.
LISTEN VERY CLOSELY! I DO NOT HAVE A BOYFRIEND. matt is a fiction character that was made up for my amusment. i'm sorry to dissapoint alot of you. the picture that you see is a guy who lives in the states that heidi aderholdt foudn for me although i'm not supposed to use her name. SORRY HEIDI! i love you. the stories that you were told had some truth but most of it was complete bull. there is no such guy here in mali actually to be honest there is nobody here in mali! ok i just wanted to make that all clear. i've had my laughing moments and i figured it was time to tell you all the truth.

so i promised you all a story of our (matt and i) attempt to make dinner or should i say the meal that become a complete mess in the kitchen. Which by the way ended up in the stomach of my dog, congo. It all began on a friday afternoon around 3ish. We decided to make my favorite, soy sauce, which is quite easy (well thats what i thought until i tried to make it). Ok the first mistake is never, every cook without michele around when i'm in the kitchen. (michele i think we need to have a few more lessons!). Secondly, when you like a boy don't try to impress him or do to many things at a time ok?! To say the least it was so bad my mom laughed at us and it took about an hour to clean up. But the dog thoroughly enjoyed the meal!
And since this is such a short update on my love life i decided that its about time i show you what this boy looks like. This is an old picture that was taken about 6 months ago when he went to visit some country that i don't remember. ;)

| Wow! I never thought that I would get such a big response from a xanga post!!!!
Ok people…calm down, this was just a date.
But at the same time, mostly due to DEMANDS from you all via xanga, facebook and email, I am going to elaborate a bit and actually tell you a little something about what has happened sinceJ…Has anyone seen Hitch? Because we kindof went on a second date and it kindof reminded me of the way that the dates went in that movie…ie really good but Bad at the same time.
Ok so first of all, it wasn’t really a second DATE, but it kindof was. I mean, we both had some free time so we went and hung out in downtown Bamako. So different than a classy dinner, but quality time just the same. And actually this was a LOT more well, I will just tell you. So we go to hang out in the downtown… but the thing that we both forgot is that there are strikes all over Mail right now. Ie the power is out for like 8 hours a day and stuff. So we are walking along the street, just talking and laughing and we turn this corner. I must not have been paying attention, because like all of the sudden we turn into this big... well mob basically. So all of the sudden we turn into this big group of shouting, angry Africans. So being very CONSPICUIOUS and everything.. ie the only white people there, we both know that the smart move is to just get out of there. So Matt is like “lets go.” And we are trying to just leave basically when I hear the sound…. Police sirens. And they are coming down the street that we CAME from. So the dilemma here is that to go back the way we came would be going right into the police and to go the other way would mean going all the way through the huge group of yelling, angry people. So at the time this way pretty scary(remind me to not hang out with strikers again guys, ok? Even if its with a nice cute boy) but looking back now it was kindof funny. Anyhow, so this story doesn’t have a dramatic tear gas ending, basically when the police came the crowd quickly disappeared…. I guess they didn’t want to get arrested or something. So that solved the problem of what to do. So basically I was a little disappointed because I didn’t get to spend as much time with Matt as I thought because we were in a mob, but yeah, it was a pretty crazy afternoon! Anyhow, so there is my boy news for you today. Chill people, we’re not engaged. We just had dinner, and he is really nice. I think I might invite him over and we can cook dinner for my family in a few days(hopefully this time wont go so badly!) because his family had been friends of ours for a long time! Anyhow, got to go, I hope that this has satisfied your curiosity for now, write if you have anymore questions.. or dinner ideas!!!!!!
